Training
The Gold DofE award is the most difficult expedition our explorers are likely to take part in. By this stage we expect participants to have completed both their Bronze and Silver Expeditions or to have experience of similar hiking expeditions. Gold DofE is hard work, training hikes are more difficult and we expect a certain level of fitness to take part. Gold Practice Expeditions can take place in the North Yorkshire Moors, Peak District, Yorkshire Dales or the Pennines. Final expeditions take place in the Lake District, Scotland or if lucky as part of a County Expedition abroad. Expeditions in the past have taken place in the Pyrenees (France) and Norway.
Timescales
Completing
All sections for Gold must have comprehensive evidence gathered which accounts for the full 6-12 months of activity. This is best gathered and uploaded every month to ensure quick approval once the section is completed. For advice on what type of evidence and how much contact Lotti.
Once you have completed each section an assessor’s report needs to be uploaded to the eDofE section. This can either be had written in your Booklet or uploaded by the assessor via the eDofE Assessor Portal
If you have lost your DofE booklet the assessor sections can be found here: Gold DofE Assessor Report Cards
